The sound mirror needed a parabolic reflector cast in bronze, similar in shape to a large satellite dish. After many false starts, a foundry was found in Edinburgh, Scotland. To achieve the exact shape, a curve was drawn in Adobe Illustrator, which was used to water-jet cut a template.
The foundry, Powderhall Bronze, made a mould by rotating the template, eventually resulting in the finished result below. It is now being transported to Castle Fine Arts for final assembly later this year.
